Foreign Policy - Jeb Say's the "World Changed" After Paris Attacks
Jeb Bush has stated that after the terrorist attacks in Paris, the presidential election has become even more important. He left criticism of other candidates unspoken as he insinuated that another "tough on terror" Bush is what this country needs. He laid out a plan for staving ISIS aggression through a resurgence in support to the Iraqi military and government. Jeb also wants to get the "lawyers off our soldier's backs" so they can do their job. This statement may end up hurting Jeb more than it helps him as he will be viewed by many as simply the third Bush to focus too heavily on Iraq.

I agree with you. Regardless of opinions on Jeb's plan, the American voters will see Jeb as the third Bush to focus too much on Iraq. This will not help his presidential prospects for 2016.
ReplyDeleteI definitely think this is a bad move for Bush. Many voters may see Bush's aggressive Iraq intervention response as a repeat of the last Bush, which will surely people to question whether to vote for him. Besides, I'm not sure what the solution is, but we've tried putting more boots on the ground, and it doesn't work. The issue is not that simple, you cannot just kill everyone with that ideology and it disappears forever. It just adds more military fuel to the fire and gets American soldiers killed.
ReplyDeleteI agree as well. Maybe he is just following his family footsteps instead of maybe going through his own route. People will view him as a mistake.

ReplyDeleteI would agree with Kyle, because Jeb Bush seems like he's taking the same approach as George W. Bush did in Iraq. With the plan that Jeb is proposing I believe he needs to propose a better and strategic plan that will not be as cost effective and will and not put American soldiers in harm.

ReplyDeleteOh wow, Bush wants to go and attack people on other continents? It's almost as if bushes have foreign attack in their genes.
ReplyDeleteBush hasn't been doing that great in his polls and I believe that this is going to help him a lot. It seems like he has a solid plan and that it actually might work. If Bush continues to do work like this then he shouldn't have a problem getting back into the higher poll states.
ReplyDeleteMany of the democratic candidates have voiced their embarrassment for the Iraq invasion decision of his brother and his statement could most dwfinetly leave voters suspect of his political leadership quality.

ReplyDeleteI'm not exactly sure if this will help or harm his polls, but good for him that he's taking a stance on the very important issue.
ReplyDeleteI think its good that Bush has a plan to push Isis back and if he does win the election i hope he does put his plan into act. Saying you'll do something is one thing actually doing it is completely different and more difficult.
