Jeb Bush did his best to square off against former protege, now rival, Sen. Marco Rubio only to have the plan completely backfire. Political analysts are in concurrence that the debate was a boon to Rubio and only served to push Jeb's poll numbers further down. Most people now await his untimely withdraw from the primary but, in Jeb's opinion, things are still going strong. Regardless of the backlash from this debate, Jeb still holds impressive contribution numbers and will continue to poll well at his Florida base. Thanks to America's ridiculously long campaign trail, there might still be time to salvage his run.

I don't particularly like Bush, but I really respect how he said that "If they're looking for an entertainer-in-chief, I'm probably not the guy," even though he gets slammed even for saying that, and not being "inspiring" enough. I get irritated at how every election seems to turn more and more into a popularity contest about who looks the best, who debates the best, who is the most likeable, who has the most witty retorts, etc., rather than considering who would actually be best at running the country.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Jeb will not go very far in his campaign. He was never high in the polls and he's only going downhill from here. He still might have Florida fans but how long will that last until something backfires again? Jeb isn't a strong candidate and even though he has time to spare, soon enough there will be no time left for him to rise in his polls.

ReplyDeleteJeb Bush has said many things that continually seem to backfire on him. Even though he still has time left to pick things up again, it doesn't seem as though it will go in his favor. But, there is always hope!
ReplyDeleteI don't know too many people who support him, I don't think he'll get much farther. I also don't think people want him for president because of his families past presence in politics.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your assessment of the long campaign trail. Despite polling poorly at the national level these past few weeks, Jeb Bush has more than enough time to make a comeback and turn his campaign in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteEven thought the odds seem against Bush, he might be able to rise higher in the polls. However, rising in the polls isn't going to make him president. I think he has to do something big in order for people to start giving him their support.
ReplyDeleteBush doesn't seem to have the odds in his favor, but like other elections it is never certain who will win the election. If can get more support he might have a greater chance to win.
ReplyDeleteEven though Jeb does have a good amount of time to gain supporters and rise in the polls, I don't think he is that popular and so i don't see him going too far.
